Un nuovo singolo e un video che anticipano l’album successivo a Jagged Little Pill Acoustic. Tre anni dopo la rilettura unplugged dell’album che nel 1995 ha fatto di lei una superstar, Alanis Morissette ritorna nelle radio e tv con Underneath.
Il singolo fa parte dell’album Flavors Of Entanglement, già completato e atteso in primavera sia nei negozi che sul Web. Già il nuovo singolo chiarisce la direzione sonora intrapresa da Alanis per il suo settimo album di inediti. Grande melodia impreziosita dalla sua inconfondibile voce, con una ritmica serrata di stampo hip hop e un’apertura quasi rock nel ritornello. Inalcune interviste recenti, l’artista ha parlato anche di “attrazione per la world music”.
Per Flavors Of Entanglement, la Morissette ha scelto come produttore Guy Sigworth, da lei apprezzato per il lavoro fatto con la cantante Imogen Heap. In precedenza la rockstar canadese aveva prodotto i suoi album o si era affidata a Glenn Ballard, artefice del successo planetario di Jagged Little Pill. L’incredibile impatto di quel disco non si è più ripetuto, la Morissette ha visto crescere il plauso della critica ma ha perso parte del suo fascino presso il grande pubblico. Resta una delle voci più amate e imitate del panorama pop-rock, l’attesa per il suo nuovo album è comunque notevole.
