Le Dixie Chicks, dopo il boicottaggio dei media all’indomani delle dichiarazioni antiBush, trionfano allo Staples Center di Los Angeles con ben cinque statuette. La cerimonia di premiazione si è conclusa positivamente anche per i Red Hot Chili Peppers (quattro Grammy) e per Mary J. Blige (tre).
I Gnarls Barkley hanno conquistato due Grammy, come anche Tony Bennett, John Legend, Bob Dylan, Justin Timberlake e Ludacris.
Nel corso della serata i Police hanno tenuto la tanto annunciata performance: si sono esibiti sulle note di “Roxanne”, a vent’anni dallo scioglimento ufficiale nel 1986. La reunion c’è stata in vista del tour estivo che li porterà in giro per l’Europa.
Tra gli altri ad esibirsi Shakira, Wyclef Jean, Christina Aguilera e Earth, Wind & Fire.
